Q: If you could describe the new collection in three words what would they be and why?
A: Afro Bohemian Chic (Afro-Boho Chic) defines this collection. We wanted to create a collection that blends African heritage with our staple Bohemian aesthetics, embracing vibrant colors, bold patterns, and natural textures. It celebrates individuality with a mix of earthy tones and free-spirited silhouettes, creating a unique style that exudes confidence and cultural pride.
Q: What was your inspiration for the collection?
A: February is a fun and important month for Liv Evon Designs as a black-owned business because we get to honor black culture and style with the celebration of Black History Month.
Q: What does each design/material represent?
A: We continued to tap into our brand aesthetic of boho-chic, a design style that captures natural textures and organic elements, interlaced with a splash of sparkle, pops of color and flair.
For our Black History Month (BHM) collection, we delved further into an Afro-boho chic design style to celebrate the earthiness, rich patterns and textures of the Black diaspora using African-based stones such as Tigers eye gemstones and Unakite semi-precious stones, and hammered brass; along with other pieces that honor the contemporary culture of black style with hair jewelry gemstone charms and big statement earrings and necklaces that embrace the largeness of black culture (Swurve, Liquid Loopz & Sinande earrings).
More On Materials:
Tigers eye - quartz gemstone with mining origins from many countries including South Africa. It takes on an enamering silky golden red-brown hue that makes it a beautiful stone for anyone to wear for any occasion. In some cultures, it's known to ward off negative energy, and encourage mental strength and emotional balance.

Unakite - semi-precious stone with mining origins from many countries including the United States in the Unaka mountain range, Sierra Leone and South Africa. It's composed of a speckled mix of deep greens, salmon pink, and clear quartz. It's often seen as a stone of grounding and awareness through the third eye.
Amythest - quartz gemstone with mining origins from many countries including Zambia. It was used by Egyptians as a gemstone to create intaglio engraved gems. It has a richly colored purple color and usually represents peace.
Other quartz - clear quartz is found all over the world and is a nice neutral color tone that's perfect for any jewelry style.
Q: When collectors wear pieces from this collection you want them to feel (fill in the blank) and why?
A: Centered. I want our Collectors to feel a sense of self-expression in loving who they are, and for some where they come from. The colors and patterns we used connect so much to earth and what it has to offer, there's identity for everyone in that.
Q: Do you have any style insights for wearing the pieces?
A: Everything is for you! Never think that something isn't. So many collectors who first meet us tell me that they can't wear certain sizes, colors, or styles of pieces based on what they've heard society say (i.e. my neck is too short for long earrings, gold or silver doesn't look good against my skin, etc.) Try something new, I'm sure you'll become more and more in love with styling yourself with different types of jewelry from here on, so many of our Collectors have!
